I love the USA

Students from the ASPIRE programs at Lewis and Alameda Elementary Schools performed at the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Downey Cemetery. First, they sang "American Tears," by Teresa Jennings. The kids were appropriately solemn as they sang these words:

For the heroes. For the patriots.
For the soldiers. For all the pioneers.
I will always be an American.
And I’ll always cry American tears.

And then they sang "God Bless the USA," by Lee Greenwood. Its upbeat tune and chorus had everyone smiling—and taking pictures.

And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA.

Photos come from cameras

I had to take one of my lenses into Art's Camera for repairs. I love going into this shop. It has so many accessories for cameras that it's hard to control my wallet. A couple girls from work and I went out to BJ's Restaurant the other night and were all so excited with what we got that all of our camera phones were whipped out and flashing like it was the paparazzi.
