Keep your eye on the ball

DSC_0283

I went over to Columbus High School this evening to watch some softball games. I took several pictures of the action, and this one, I thought, epitomizes the saying we've all heard, "Keep your eye on the ball." Which is to say, keep your eye on the target or goal.

So, I thought I would ask our DDP followers, "Are you keeping your eye on your goals?" Let us know.

PS She did hit the ball.

Practice makes perfect...

Today was tryouts for Northwest Downey Little League at Furman Park. We caught the tail end as we were taking our usual route around the park. Even though the fields were emptying, kids were off to the sides practicing their skills.

They were fun to watch, but I bet this little "batter" would do better if he kept his eyes open when he swung at the ball. Here's to a great season and probably a lot more practice.

I wanna play!

I love to see the kids playing at the park. This little guy wanted to play so badly, he kept sort of wandering out onto the field.

Play ball

This past weekend I went to Furman Park to watch the Major Dodgers West Downey Little League because a friend's son is on the team. I was surprised that both girls and boys can play on the same team. But, it was fun to watch them. The kids were certainly intense about their game.

Take me out to the ball game...

IMG_3783

I sometimes go to the park in the afternoon to walk my dog, Ivan. It's fun to see all the fields taken up with softball games. Of course, I can't resist taking a few shots. The kids look so serious and cute at the same time.
