Silhouette or shadow

One of the things I like about winter is seeing the "skeletons" of the trees. The silhouette of this tree, one recent morning, was what first caught my eye. But then I noticed that its shadow on the house was just as intriguing.

The bare tree

One of the things that I like about winter is the pattern that the bare tree branches make against the background of a solid wall. This tree is located in downtown Downey.

Sunset

Tonight I had a hard time concentrating on the road as I was driving home because the sunset was so beautiful and full of colors. Unfortunately, that meant I drove kind of like a crazy person to get home in time to try and capture it. By the time I grabbed my camera and got back outside, there was very little light. I took this picture quickly and truth be told it is not crisp. But, it is still pretty with the silhouettes of the trees backlit with the colors of the setting sun...a beautiful end of day.

Butterflies and thoughts

Butterflies come naturally this time of year. I love the fact that chasing them brings nothing but tired legs and arms. But as soon as you sit and rest a while, here he comes, fluttering on your knee.
