No longer empty

On Monday, I showed you the just-delivered pots for the Firestone Boulevard improvement project, still wrapped in plastic. Here, you can see them in place and filled with with greenery and flowering plants.

These pots now line Firestone Boulevard near downtown Downey. There's still a lot of work to do, but what's there is starting to look very appealing.

We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.

These pots, still plastic-wrapped, give you a clue of more to come for the Firestone Boulevard improvement project. Some of these pots have been unwrapped since I was by there this weekend. I'll show you more on Friday.

Pots, pots, and more pots....

I guess I'm back to some yard art. I love finding houses with fun things in their yard. This driveway is lined with a unique selection of pots that were so charming I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Yard art

Okay, okay, I kinda love yard art. There is something personal and compelling about the fun things you find in people's yards. It's like seeing a little piece of another person's idea of beauty, or their idea of funky- color and texture. I appreciate the variety that is out there and enjoy finding the intentional creativity.
