Ireland 1

DSC_0465

We are in Ireland this week and next. It is a country of rich heritage and culture. This is the Long Room at Trinity College in Dublin. Built in the 18th century, it houses over 200,000 of the college's older books. It does not use the Dewey decimal system, but a home grown system with the largest books on the bottom shelf, A, to the smallest ones on the very top, Q. This room is just magnificent. It takes your breath away.

DSC_0500Dublin is such an international city. Everywhere I went I was hearing other languages besides English. Also I was told that there has been a large immigration in the 1990s and early 2000s. Due to the upturn in the economy, many from the continent came over for the higher-paying jobs.

DSC_0481Ireland is so green everywhere you look, except in the city. But they have these hanging pots of beautiful flowers that bring color to the city.
