Just an hour down the coast from Downey is the lovely beach community of San Clemente. My wife and I spent last weekend there celebrating our anniversary. At low tide this shallow beach becomes a walker's paradise. We walked for almost two miles in the same direction before turning back to get lunch. And we were still a ways from San Mateo Point where San Mateo Creek empties into the ocean.
This was only a small portion of the view from our porch. We walked to the end of the pictured pier about six times. So relaxing. If you want to learn more about San Clemente, click here.
