Clang, clang, clang went the trolley

Electric trolley

It's amazing what you learn about Downey when you just drive around the side streets. It turns out that Downey is the home to E-Bus, a manufacturer of electric buses and trolleys. This 22-foot electric trolley, which accommodates 22 seated passengers and 10 standees, caught my eye with its old-fashioned good looks.

  1. Really? Where is this? Is it still functioning? Hmmm. . . fascinating. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

  2. Like Bonnie I too am not sure this does look rather like it has seen better days. I do love trolley buses though, sadly there are none near my city of Leeds here in Yorkshire.

  3. Bonnie, it's just east of Downey Landing. You can click the Location link at the bottom of the post to see the exact spot. Paul, I think they rent these trolley buses out, but I've never seen one around Downey.
