Happy Anniversary Eve!

JosephMary

There has been only one Christmas -- the rest are anniversaries.
W. J. Cameron
At the nativity scene at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mary and Joseph look down on the baby Jesus.

The baby wasn't actually there last night when I took these pictures. Is that Catholic tradition? Or just protection against vandalism?

  1. Yes, I think it's traditional in Catholic/orthodox areas--the creche is set out with everyone there except the baby, who arrives on the night of the 24th.

Maybe they bring the baby out during mass? That part I don't know. . . .

  2. Mary Ann, thanks for the info. I'll have to figure out how to get by there next Christmas Eve. It's such a lovely setting, I'd like to see it completed.
